Divorced Couple Indicted in Bingo Money Thefts

According to law enforcement authorities on Thursday, an estranged couple could spend a decade of their life in prison if they convicted on the charges of stealing the profits of bingo games for pensioners.

Kym Worthy, the Wayne County Prosecutor, said that the two suspects on the crime are Neal William Greenfield and his former wife, Shari Kay Greenfield, 41 and 39 years old respectively who are residents of Livonia, stole the proceeds of the bingo games for the senior citizens amounting to at least $20,000 dollars from Wayne Ford Civic League from 1999 until 2004.

She added that it is really unfortunate and horrible that there are people like these two in the country who will steal from anybody or anything, including money that is for senior citizens. It is really disgusting if you dwell upon it.

The estranged couple, who divorced in 2003, were arraigned for their crimes last Thursday in the 18th District Court in Westland. The charges that are filed against them are embezzlement of more than $20,000 dollars. Their bail was set to $25,000 dollars each.
